A humble beginning...

Navo & Sons Inc. was founded in 1958 by George C. Navo. Business was conducted for several years out of George's home on Mc Courtney Rd. in Grass Valley. Initial start up capitol was $500.00, a humble beginning indeed. Since the beginning it has been a family affair; his wife, Githa, and his 5 children Randy, Gary, Dawn, Kitt, and Mark all helping out.

In the 70s

In 1972 Navo & Sons added Johnny on the Spot to supply portable toilets for new construction and special events. Due to the growing business, George Navo decided that a "main street" location was important to the company's future. In 1973 the business relocated to an old historic mining building on Idaho-Maryland Rd in Grass Valley. It has remained a fixture of that area ever since.

George's son Randy was a full-time participant in the business at this time, concentrating his efforts on sales and service. In 1976 another of George's sons, Mark Navo, also joined the family business full time. This pairing of the Navo brothers along with George Navo enabled Navo & Sons Inc. to expand service territory for both septic pumping and portable toilets.

Through the 80s

In 1982 Randy's wife, Jaye Deen Navo, joined the Navo & Sons team as an office manager, dispatcher and “whatever else needed to get done.. Shortly after the addition of Jaye Deen Navo, George Navo decided to semi-retire to pursue other projects.

Through hard work and dedication Randy, Mark, and Jaye Deen were able to expand Navo & Sons to other avenues - such as leach field tracing, septic inspections, and TV inspections.

Realizing a need to diversify into other areas, Navo & Sons Inc. purchased the Grass Valley Roto-Rooter Franchise in 1988. In 1993 Navo & Sons also purchased the Auburn Roto-Rooter Franchise.

Into the 90s

In 1995 Randy Navo achieved his Contractors State License in both plumbing and sanitation systems. This allowed both Navo & Sons Inc. and Roto-Rooter to expand into the plumbing industry. Navo and Sons Inc. started installing septic tanks and leach fields, and Roto-Rooter could take care of all their customers' plumbing needs.

In 1996 Navo & Sons decided to sell off the Johnny on the Spot business to further focus on septic sytems and plumbing repair. They soon added an Environmental Health Specialist to their already very capable crew, allowing the company to expand into designing septic systems and performing perc & mantles.

Looking to further expand their services into the Placer County area, Navo & Sons Inc. purchased All-Sierra Septic in 2000.

A New Millenia

Today, Navo & Sons, Inc. is the largest Septic, Sewer, and Plumbing service provider in Nevada and Placer Counties. They have continued to expand their services, offering specialized maintenance and monitoring for high end septic systems, and also adding Roto-Rooter Restoration to perform Water and Sewer Damage Restoration. Though Randy and Jaye Dean have joined "Grandpa" George Navo in semi-retirement, the family legacy continues with Mark Navo now running the company. Along with Mark, new generations of Navos are keeping the family tradition alive, including Chris Navo who serves as general manager, and Josh, Grady, Logan, and Alexis Navo who serve customers in a variety of areas in the business.

Navo & Sons has undergone many changes throughout the decades, but one thing has remained the same: a commitment to their customers to provide the best service in town.
